Skill Review: Train My Brain

Train My Brain by P4A, as the name suggests, is a classic brain trainer that showcases a variety of brainteasers, puzzles, and games for all age groups. The skill not only explores simple quantitative or verbal language skills but also measures memory retaining ability from several dimensions of knowledge. It covers basic math games, word puzzles, spelling backwards, memory games, and trivia. The users are presented with 6 random questions every time they play the game . These questions are mostly of a rapid-fire kind and it switches between the topics after each answer from the player. It nudges the player to give the answers within a time span of 8 seconds. The puzzles included are fun to solve and a key aspect of the voice app is its adaptive learning questions; the level of difficulty increases as the players progress further in the game.

Train My Brain not only gives kids and adults an intuitive gaming experience but also provides them with the ability to learn amazing strategies for solving diverse puzzles and broaden their horizons of knowledge. Although the skill seems to be curated with the brain-teasing quotient to entertain and educate users, there were a few pitfalls found while reviewing the skill. The first one being, in rare instances, repeated questions are raised while playing another round of the game. Another setback is, there is no option for the player to resume the game from where he/she has left off. Lastly, the skill sometimes seems to misinterpret the correct answers given by the user as wrong ones.
