Verdict

Story Maker is a uniquely crafted voice app designed by Clouldlands Dev to entertain its inquisitive users. Pivoted on an educational idea, the skill attempts to cater to kids and learners interested to improve their vocab. The voice app is basically a fun game in which Alexa prompts the user to render inputs using which a story is created. The end result is interesting as the user’s words are woven into the storyline and alluringly narrated to the listener.

The fascinating yield of stories the voice skill offers is a major plus. This educational game is designed such that it caters to all ages, young and grown-ups alike. As with the skill, Alexa asks users for 4 to 10 words and the resultant stories that are churned out are indeed engaging. The only catch is that players got to think and answer fast to all the questions Alexa tosses around. If the player takes too long or stutters, Alexa might mishear and include her version of goofy words to create strange but exciting stories. Another standout of this game is that Alexa remembers the player’s choices and utilizes them multiple times in the same story reflecting the voice skill’s inherent creative capability. The users get the chance to put on their thinking caps and come up with funny ideas to pep up the overall experience of the skill. It is riveting to see Alexa automatically make each and every input of the user fit the story like pieces to a jigsaw puzzle. Also, the stories that are whipped up are different and diverse amounting to around 30 original stories. Besides providing hours of family fun, the voice app supports a few educative features that enable listeners to learn a bit in the middle of all the raving fun and laughter. So kids or English language learners wanting to learn parts of speech or grow their vocabulary are encouraged by the developers of the skill to try it out. Additionally, the voice application supports a rather robust ‘help’ section to aid users to navigate the skill with ease. Well, that being said, there seem to be a few downsides that could let down the users at times. One of the letdowns is that the voice experience abruptly ends soon after the narration of the story ends. Another downer is that even when the user gives input contrary to what Alexa is asking, the skill accepts the input without checking its authenticity and progresses further.

The VOGO Voice team scores this skill 4.2 out of 5 stars based on our rating system. Yet, you’ll have to try it for yourself and see if it is a truly entertaining voice app that will help you gulp up some fun while learning a bit of English. So all that players got to do is be creative and speak clearly to make the most of what the skill has to offer. This is one of those games that allows you the privilege of not fretting over articles or plurals, but just keep giving the words that Alexa wants from you.  So why not try out the skill and see if it offers the amusing experience you had anticipated.
